Year 3, 4, 5, and 6 Courses

Maths
Our Key Stage 2 Mathematics curriculum focuses on foundational concepts, enhancing understanding of numerical relationships. Students explore place value, including decimals and larger numbers. Proficiency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is honed through written methods. Encouragement to recognize patterns and improve mental arithmetic aids problem-solving skills. Introduction to algebraic concepts and advanced geometry readies students for secondary school.

English
Our Key Stage 2 English curriculum immerses students in a diverse range of literary genres to foster a love for reading and writing. We prioritize enhancing reading skills for enjoyment and information, expanding vocabulary, and responding to text-based inquiries. Grammar receives dedicated attention, empowering students to apply essential principles in their writing. Creative expression is encouraged, drawing from class readings and students' imaginations. Interactive discussions, role- playing, and oral exercises enrich classroom activities.

Science
In our Key Stage 2 Science program, we endeavor to cultivate our students comprehension of the natural world, igniting their innate curiosity. Through engaging topics such as 'The Human Body,' 'Our Universe,' and 'Changing States,' students are introduced to the fundamental domains of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Practical experimentation plays a pivotal role, with students devising their own investigative projects. This approach fosters the development of inquiry skills, nurturing a sense of wonder and scientific inquiry among our learners

Humanities
At KS2, our Humanities curriculum invites students to explore and question the world around them, encompassing both contemporary issues and historical events. Each term features engaging projects centered on significant historical eras, diverse cultures, and countries. These projects not only enhance literacy and numeracy skills through research and presentation tasks but also integrate the application of these skills in real-world contexts. Students will also gain familiarity with key geographical terminology and start to observe and analyze both the physical and human aspects of their environments. This comprehensive approach encourages a deeper understanding and appreciation of the broader world.

French and Spanish
Our language program offers dynamic and interactive lessons in both French and Spanish, catering to learners ranging from complete beginners to those with existing language skills. Each session is designed to enhance fluency, featuring lively conversations that help students practice and improve their speaking abilities. Students will broaden their vocabulary and deepen their understanding of French and Spanish verbs and grammar. This foundation supports them in starting to read and write short passages in both languages. Additionally, learners will explore cultural elements, gaining insights into the lifestyles, traditions, and customs of French and Spanish-speaking countries. This holistic approach not only builds language proficiency but also fosters a greater appreciation of global cultures.

Creative Media
Our Creative Media course is a dynamic, project-based learning experience influenced by the creative industries. It's designed to cultivate students' creative imagination and communication skills while deepening their understanding and enjoyment of the arts and media. Through hands-on projects, students progress in their ability to think critically and manage every aspect of their projects—from planning and research to analysis, evaluation, and reflection on their creative outputs. The course also emphasizes the development of skills that promote wellbeing, supporting students in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their independence in the broader world. This holistic approach prepares students to navigate the complexities of creative fields and to apply their skills across various aspects of life and work
